Unlocking the Wonders of Robotics: Understanding What Robots Are and How They Shape Our World

What are Robots?

Robots are used more and more to change people's life. In recent times, some robots have found their place in houses. Those robots are specific ones as for example robotic vacuum cleaners. The next step in robotics' evolution is to make people live with robots in everyday life.

Having a robot assistant surely seems like a dream for most of us. A robot that can help us carry items, accompany us at shopping malls, or during a jogging session at the park. A robot that can help nurses at hospital, or bringing the medical supplies during war to injured soldiers. There are so many advantages of having such robot, that in the future, it will most likely be the trends.

The robots that will be needed in the near future are human-friendly robots that are able to coexist with humans and support humans effectively. To realize this, humans and robots need to be in close proximity to each other as much as possible. Moreover, it is necessary for their interactions to occur naturally. It is desirable for a robot to carry out human following, as one of the human-affinitive movements.

A Robot is a machine programmable by a computer capable of carrying out difficult task.

Robots were originally built to handle simple to difficult task.

Robots consist of some mechanical construction for its body.

Robots need electrical components that power the circuit.

Robots need some level of computer programming, without programming robot will be like a simple Machine.

What is Robotics?

Robotics is the intersection of Science, Engineering & Technology that produces machines called Robots.

Robotics is used helping to fight forest fires.

It is used to work alongside humans in manufacturing plants.

Used during search and rescue mission etc.

Main Components of Robots:-

Controller

Sensors

Actuators

Power Supply

Electric Motors

Controllers:-

Controller is a part of robot that coordinates all motion of the mechanical system. It also receives an input from  environment through various sensors. The heart of robot's controller is a microprocessor linked with the input/output and monitoring device. The command issued by the controller activates the motion control mechanism, consisting of various controller, actuators and amplifier.

Sensors:-

Sensors provide real time information on the task environment. Robots are equipped with tactile sensor it imitates the mechanical properties of touch receptors of human fingerprints and a vision sensor is used for computing the depth in the environment.

Actuators:-

These are Energy conversion devices used inside a robot. The major function of Actuator is to convert energy into movement of robot like motors moves.

Power Supplies:-

The working power to the robot is provided by batteries, hydraulic, solar power, or pneumatic power sources. Batteries may be Li-Po batteries.

Electric Motors:-

Electric Motors are electromechanical component used for converting electrical energy into its equivalent mechanical energy. In robots motors are used for providing rotational movement. Electric Motors may be of AC or DC.

Applications of Robots?

The most popular applications of Robots in our daily life is Vacuum Cleaner Robot or Floor Cleaning Robot. But nowadays we also have robots which are used to cut the lawn in the garden or clean the bottom of the pool, robots which clean our windows or which can even iron our clothes.

1. Collaborative Robots

2. Painting Robots

3. Welding Robots

4. Assembly Robots

5. Material remover Robots

6. Industry Material Carry Robots

7. Fabrication Robots

8. Finishing Robots

There are a lot of Applications of Robots.
